Artist Profile: Eazy-E

Eric Wright, better known as Eazy-E, was a pioneer rapper from Compton, California, an area in Los Angeles well known for gangs and heavy crime rates. He was a member of the legendary rap group N.W.A and co-founder of Ruthless Records, most famous for signing Bone Thugs N Harmony.

His career started in 1986 and was probably best known as a controversial west coast gangsta rapper.

He was most famous for the songs like “Boyz-N-the Hood” , “We Want Eazy”, “Eazy-er Said Than Dunn”, “Luv 4 Dem Gangsta’z”, “Foe tha Love of $” and also “Real Muthaphuckkin G’s”, which became his highest reaching single on the Billboard Hot 100.

He died of AIDS in March of 1995 at the age of 30.

Throughout his career, Eazy-E released 6 solo studio albums and 4 studio albums with N.W.A.
